Colette Boushell is a soprano who moved to Alnwick a few years ago. She gave a wonderful folk song recital with her regular piano partner Adam Johnson as part of our Weekend Festival of Music here in 2023.

Adam Johnson is a prize-winning pianist who was a Scholar and Junior Fellow at The Royal Northern College of Music, studying under esteemed mentors such as Martin Roscoe.  Adam is also a composer and a versatile and dynamic conductor. He is Head of Classical Keyboard at Newcastle University.

In 2024 Adam formed the group Ensemble Lumière to perform Messiaen’s Quartet for the end of time. It was performed to rave reviews at the Lit and Phil in Newcastle.

The other three players are members of Royal Northern Sinfonia – Jessica Lee (clarinet), Jane Nossek (violin) and Gabriel Waite (cello).
