Ryan Corbett is the first accordionist to be part of the prestigious BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist scheme.
Royal Over-Seas League Gold medallist and Classic FM Rising Star, Ryan has been hailed by Sir James MacMillan as “one of the most astonishing and surprising newcomers in Scottish music.”

Born in Glasgow in 1999, Ryan taught himself accordion until the age of fourteen, when he began studying with Djordje Gajic at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Ryan gave an hour-long solo recital in the Playhouse Studio Hub as part of our Weekend Festival of Music in 2023.
Those of us who heard him were amazed by his virtuosity and we were determined that we would have Ryan in a full-length recital. Ryan and his accordion teacher Djordje Gajic will play their own arrangements of Stravinsky’s Petrushka and Rachmaninov’s Symphonic dances.
